The Verdict
What is this

The Elbow Meter evaluates how genuinely achievable it is to "buy Canadian" when it comes to any specific product, brand, or destination.

It is satire. It is also true. These things are not mutually exclusive.

The point

Performative economic nationalism is easy to declare and hard to execute. The supply chains are tangled, the ownership structures are complicated, and Tim Hortons is owned by a Brazilian holding company incorporated in Delaware.

Elbows up. Good luck out there.
